PROJECT BETA - Technical Brief

Program Name: Project Beta - Real-Time Analytics Dashboard
Status: In Progress (Phase 2 of 3)

Client: Internal (Business Intelligence Team)

OVERVIEW:
Project Beta delivers a real-time analytics dashboard for the BI team. It consumes data from the Project Alpha data platform and provides interactive visualizations, automated alerts, and scheduled reports.

DEPENDENCIES:
- Project Alpha API endpoints (critical path)
- VendorX Analytics SDK for chart rendering (risk: delivery timeline uncertain)
- Keycloak SSO for user authentication (shared with Project Alpha)

CURRENT STATUS (as of Feb 18):
- Phase 1 (data ingestion pipeline): COMPLETE
- Phase 2 (dashboard UI and API integration): IN PROGRESS
  - Blocked: VendorX SDK delivery delayed, original ETA was Feb 10, no new date provided
  - Workaround options being evaluated by Sarah Johnson
- Phase 3 (alerts and scheduled reports): NOT STARTED, depends on Phase 2

KEY RISKS:
1. VendorX SDK delay - if not received by Feb 21, must pivot to open-source alternative (D3.js)
2. Project Alpha API changes in Sprint 23 may break Beta's data ingestion
3. BI team requested 3 additional dashboard widgets not in original scope

ARCHITECTURE:
- Frontend: React 18 + TypeScript
- Charting: VendorX SDK (pending) or D3.js (fallback)
- Backend: FastAPI (shared infrastructure with Project Alpha)
- Data: PostgreSQL views on Project Alpha database
- Auth: Keycloak SSO (same realm as Project Alpha)

TIMELINE:
- Phase 2 target completion: March 7, 2026
- Phase 3 target completion: March 21, 2026
- Final delivery: March 28, 2026
